Esports World Cup Holders To Be Issued Saudi E-Visas

Esports World Cup ticket holders won’t just enjoy watching the annual e-tournament, but will also receive travel document privileges.

According to a media release by the Saudi Press Agency, Esports World Cup spectators will be issued Saudi electronic visas, in a move to streamline access to the event.

To obtain the visa, they must apply for the 90-day single-entry visa at https://ksavisa.sa/visa/tourism/esport/apply.

Apart from witnessing the competition, ticket holders can participate in different family-friendly sports, entertainment, educational, cultural, and creative activities.

The initiative is the product of the collaboration between the Esports World Cup Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Tourism.

EWC Final at Riyadh’s The Venue

The annual international esports tournament is set to be held in Riyadh for the first time, opening on July 3^rd at the Boulevard Riyadh City.

The Boulevard Riyadh City is a 220-acre mixed-use development that features high-end shopping and entertainment outlets.

The Esports World Cup will be held until August 25, 2024.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Al-Sheikh announced that Riyadh’s “The Venue” will host the Esports World Cup Final in August 2024.

The entertainment facility is currently being constructed and is set to be completed in 50 days.

It is situated near the Kingdom Arena which will be accessible to all Saudi ministries, agencies, and the private sector for their events.

The Kingdom Arena is a football stadium in Riyadh that can seat 27,600 spectators.

“The [Venue] project is being implemented by the Sela Sports Company, owned by the Public Investment Fund, with the participation of Saudi staff,” Al-Sheikh noted.

“‘The Venue’ facility will be used to hold large events and would relieve pressure on the Kingdom Arena,” he added.

About the EWC

The Esports World Cup competition takes place over eight weeks, with over 1,500 players from 500 elite international clubs around the world.

These players will battle it out in 22 tournaments to win a cash prize of over SAR 225 million (USD 60 million).

This prize pot is the highest ever in the esports competition’s history.

With Saudi Arabia hosting the Esports World Cup, the kingdom hopes to boost its position as a premier gaming and esports destination.

This undertaking is in line with the National Gaming and Esports Strategy introduced by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
