Article Summary:
- Saudi giga-project NEOM has partnered with high-performance hospitality company Equinox Hotels to build the luxury resort Treyam.
- A premier harbor destination, Treyam’s most distinguishing feature is its 450-meter-long bridge-like structure floating 40 meters above a lagoon.
- Treyam is just one of 12 destinations under Magna, a luxury lifestyle coastal destination.
Saudi Arabia’s NEOM is partnering with Equinox Hotels to build a luxury accommodation in Magna.
NEOM is a Saudi giga-project located in Tabuk, particularly at the northern tip of the Red Sea. In 2017, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman launched NEOM as a futuristic urban area that will be bigger than Dubai.
According to reports, the “city of the future” will cost USD 500 billion (roughly SAR 1.9 trillion) to build. Other giga-projects include Qiddiya, Red Sea Global, ROSHN, and the Diriyah Company. It spans approximately 26,500 square kilometers and will have cities, ports, airports, entertainment venues, tourist destinations, and more.
NEOM’s Magna and Treyam
Equinox Hotels, meanwhile, is a high-performance luxury hospitality company. It will be bringing the Equinox Resort Treyam to Magna, a luxury lifestyle coastal destination. It was in June 2024 when NEOM’s Board of Directors announced its development. Treyam is just a short distance from THE LINE.
Magna in NEOM is located on the Gulf of Aqaba and consists of 12 premier sustainable destinations along the coastline. These include the Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana, Aquellum, Zardun, Xaynor, Elanan, Gidori, Treyam and Jaumur developments.
Magna, in particular, will focus on state-of-the-art technology, world-class architecture, and ultra-modern amenities that blend with nature. The destination in NEOM will have 2,500 residences, 15 luxury hotels, three marina bays, and a 500-student boarding school.
The Equinox Resort Treyam, specifically, will be a 450-meter bridge-like structure floating 40 meters above a lagoon. The “bridge” serves as a connection between northern and southern shores, creating a sunset-like illusion from a certain vantage point.
Magna’s luxury lagoon resort Treyam will offer 250 rooms for its guests. The upper and lower floors provide panoramic lagoon views, while the 36-meter-high rooftop features a 450-meter infinity pool.
Apart from these vistas, guests can enjoy activities such as diving, sailing, and other water sports. They can also indulge in luxury spa treatments and fine dining offerings.
The model for transformative Luxury
Equinox Hotels CEO Christopher Norton remarked, “As a region, NEOM embodies the future of luxury hospitality, and Equinox Hotels is thrilled to create an unparalleled resort experience within this visionary destination.
“Our partnership with NEOM highlights a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and redefining the boundaries of hospitality.”
“Located between THE LINE and the southernmost point of the Gulf of Aqaba, our resort will serve as the model for transformative luxury, activating the entire destination with experiences that only Equinox Hotels can offer,” he added.
In addition, NEOM Hotel Division Executive Director Chris Newman said, “Our partnership reflects a shared vision of innovation, sustainability, and pushing the boundaries of what hospitality can be.”
“This resort will be an example of transformative luxury, offering distinctive and inspiring experiences that only Equinox Hotels can deliver.”
“Guests will have the opportunity to fully engage with this extraordinary location, where every detail is designed to enhance their well-being, elevate their journey, and support a high-performance lifestyle.”
