Flyadeal, one of Saudi Arabia’s newest and lowest-cost airlines, recently participated in the Hajj and Umrah forum in Egypt.
Attendees flocked to the two-day event at the Nile Ritz-Carlton Cairo. Over 3,000 tourism and travel professionals shared their products and services with pilgrim attendees. These travel professionals included ground service operators, hotels, airlines, and travel and tour agencies providing Umrah and Hajj services.
Flyadeal: Focusing on service excellence
At the Hajj and Umrah forum, Flyadeal sales and customer support personnel attended to visitors’ various queries. In particular, they provided important information about their products and on-the-ground services available in Saudi Arabi.
For example, the airline offers routes from Cairo to key cities in Saudi Arabia such as Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh. Flyadeal head of sales, Hajj & Umrah, and Commercial Regulatory Affairs, Rakan Alotaibi, emphasized how the forum assists pilgrims.
“This was an important event that brought together industry professionals and travel suppliers specializing in pilgrim travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” remarked Alotaibi.
“We had the opportunity to share information with visitors about flyadeal, our products and dedicated on-the-ground support services in the Kingdom,” he added.
“Additionally, the event offered us a platform where we reaffirmed our commitment to offering affordable low-cost travel focused on service excellence.”
To help facilitate the smooth travel of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia every year, Flyadeal has been working with travel partners.
Flying thousands of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia
On its second year of supporting Hajj travel, it has flown more than 35,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. This translates to a 35 percent increase in passengers versus in 2023. This also demonstrates that it is growing its capacity and is building trust among Hajj travelers.
Currently, Flyadeal has 33 Airbus A320neo aircraft and has bases in Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh. It has a network covering 30 destinations across the Middle East region, Europe, and North Africa.
A320neo planes have outstanding operational performance and environmental benefits, enabling Flyadeal to offer low-cost flights. In addition, it also uses state-of-the-art technology to boost its long-haul capabilities.
Earlier in July, Flyadeal and fellow Saudi airline Saudia introduced eight new daily flights to Abha for the summer season. These flights connect Abha to the cities of Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam. Saudia increased its number of Abha flights from 14 to 19, while Flyadeal increased theirs from 14 to 17 flights. The Saudia Group owns Flyadeal.
Abha is a metropolis in Saudi Arabia that is popular for its mild climate and hilltop fortresses. Saudis also call it the “Bride of Mountain” because it is 2,270 meters above sea level.
Initial Hajj flight
Meanwhile, it was in May 2023 when Flyadeal announced it would fly pilgrims from India to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. The airline carried 328 pilgrims on the flight.
Flyadeal officials and GACA representatives welcomed the passengers at the Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina. GACA stands for the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation.
In the same month, Saudia Group announced its operational plans to allocate over 1.2 million seats for Hajj pilgrims.
