It now operates six weekly flights from Turkey’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, providing passengers with more travel options and convenience. By introducing these flights, Saudi Arabia’s Air Connectivity Program (ACP) establishes King Abdulaziz International Airport as a global aviation hub. In line with this, it will serve as a link between the East and West. Specifically, ACP hopes to connect the airport to 150 international destinations and serve over 114 million passengers by 2030.

Moreover, this increased air connectivity boosts trade and tourism between Turkey and Saudi Arabia, supporting inbound tourism to Saudi cities. At the same time, it promotes cultural exchange and economic growth.

Boosting Saudi tourism

Officials from both countries have expressed their enthusiasm for the new routes. In particular, the CEO of Jeddah Airports highlighted the new routes’ benefits for passengers and the airport’s strategic goals.

Similarly, ACP CEO Majid Khan emphasized their optimism for the collaboration between the two countries with aJet’s entry. He noted that the new flights would play a crucial role in attracting more tourists to Saudi Arabia, thereby contributing to the country’s tourism sector.

“Air connectivity to the Kingdom from Türkiye will be further enhanced with the entry of Ajet,” pointed out ACP CEO, Majid Khan.

“Point-to-point traffic and inbound tourism to Madinah, Jeddah, Dammam, and Riyadh will grow from Istanbul and Ankara, supporting our tourism strategy. We look forward to a strong partnership with AJet to further develop air connectivity to Saudi Arabia`s strong network of airports and to our highly underserved market.”
